The ‘Talking with Young Kids about Race’ is a workshop for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children aged 0-8 years old. This is a minds-on, participatory workshop with time to learn, share, and discuss strategies and opportunities for talking with young children about race. Facilitators will share resources on both adult racial identity development and how young children develop their understandings of race. We will also share practical strategies, explore texts to spark conversations, and practice role-playing these conversations, with a particular focus on multiracial identities and families. This session is co-hosted by the Cooperative Nursery School.
